The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Fort Worth Metropolitan Chapter is honored to support aspiring young Black women in their pursuit of higher education. About Our Scholarship

Chartered in September 2023, the NCBW Fort Worth Metropolitan Chapter is an advocacy organization committed to empowering Black women and girls through programs that promote leadership development, gender equity, health, political awareness, and civic engagement.

Our scholarship program provides merit-based and need-based funding to help students achieve their higher educational goals.

Eligibility Requirements

For your future planning, applicants typically must meet the following criteria:

  1. Identity: Be a Black female.

  2. Location: Be a senior graduating from a high school within the Fort Worth Metropolitan Area.

  3. Academics: Maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Future Application Components

When the window re-opens, applicants are generally required to provide:

  • Official Documentation: Completed application and a current high school transcript.

  • Letter of Interest: A one-page introduction covering your community/religious involvement and financial need.

  • Creative Essay or Video: A written essay or 1–2 minute video discussing your future plans and an influential African American woman.

  • Recommendations: Two letters (one from school personnel, one from a community member).

  • Professional Headshot: For use in program booklets or social media announcements.

Awards & Disbursement

NCBW Fort Worth traditionally grants two distinct scholarship awards per cycle. The specific value of these awards is determined annually. If selected, funds are disbursed directly to the recipient’s academic institution once enrollment has been verified.
